Director of AOPA UK and Chairman of Channel Island Region of AOPA. Originator and still administers the AOPA “Strasser Scheme” in which 193 UK airports and airfields have agreed to waive charges for emergency and precautionary diversion landings, as recommended in CAA CAP 667 9.2(c).
He has been an active pilot for 51 years and owns a Piper Seneca II, holding a CAA PPL with IR and a FAA CPL with IR. He is also a past world president of the International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians, a past vice chairman of the Jersey Aero Club and a was a volunteer pilot and Midland region co-ordinator of the St John Ambulance Air Wing set up for transporting human kidneys for transplant.
